DESCRIPTION


The City seeks a third-party administrator to provide comprehensive workers' compensation claims administration for medical-only and lost-time claims. The administrator will ensure reported claims comply with agency reporting guidelines, consult with City representatives regarding compensability, calculate indemnity payments with City designees, issue required notifications to injured employees, coordinate contested claims and litigation, obtain current medical reports, and advise the City on workers' compensation matters under applicable state and federal laws.

The administrator will also receive and review medical bills for related treatment, re-price bills using Industrial Accident Board rates and other applicable discounts, issue payments for compensable medical treatment, negotiate surgeries and treatment plans when appropriate, and manage disputed medical services or bills.
