The selected contractor will be responsible for administering a comprehensive Sports Tourism Promotion Program. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing an annual written marketing and business plan, presenting the plan for approval to the Commissioners Court, and directly tying budget allocations to program objectives. The contractor will market and solicit sporting tournaments and events with emphasis on youth and amateur sports, as well as promote conventions, special events, music and film events, and tourism-related gatherings.

Additional tasks involve conducting public relations and advertising campaigns targeting out-of-town visitors, developing public awareness campaigns to support the travel and tourism industries, and producing and distributing promotional materials and digital content to position the agency as a tourism destination. Event development and servicing include recruiting and servicing sporting tournaments and tourism-generating events, coordinating with local venues and stakeholders, tracking hotel room nights and economic impact metrics, and delivering event servicing support. The contractor must submit bi-monthly written reports summarizing program activities, marketing initiatives, event recruitment, and performance metrics. The contract period will be for one year, and prospective vendors must submit questions by June 4, 2026.
