Situational Awareness and Visualization Platform RFI

The agency is seeking information from audiovisual, visualization, information technology, and mission-critical systems vendors regarding technologies and system approaches that could improve situational awareness, operational decision-making, collaboration, and controlled distribution of visual information. The RFI requests high-level information on modernization of visualization and information-sharing capabilities, including geographic information systems, incident dashboards, camera feeds, local and remote computer sources, web-based systems, situational awareness platforms, and video conferencing content.

Responses should address the clear and reliable presentation of text-heavy, map-based, video, and collaborative content; flexible display layouts and rapid operator control during routine and emergency operations; resilience, redundancy, cybersecurity, maintainability, and long-term serviceability; interoperability with existing agency systems; and information sharing with authorized executive, partner, and operational support locations. Any future implementation would need to comply with applicable grant, procurement, approval, and environmental review requirements.

The agency is also seeking information about primary visualization environments, including display technologies, pixel pitch, resolution, brightness, contrast, viewing distance, color uniformity, readability, ergonomics, accessibility, ambient light, acoustics, operator fatigue, redundancy, spare parts, calibration, room preparation, infrastructure requirements, and planning-level cost drivers. The anticipated contract period is one year, and questions must be submitted by August 21, 2026.
