The government authority in Austin, Texas is seeking a contractor to provide relay services for substations, power plants, and transmission and distribution systems. The contractor will provide labor, supervision, equipment, tools, safety devices, temporary materials, and conveyances for routine and emergency relay service installation and performance.
Services include receiving, loading, transporting, and unloading Austin Energy materials; installing and removing fiber optic cable and inner-duct; assembling, installing, disassembling, uninstalling, transporting, and disposing of relay panels, battery chargers, battery racks, and AC/DC panels; and installing and wiring SCADA remote terminal units and RTACs.
The contractor will also perform equipment, system, station, transmission, and distribution commissioning, testing, and startup through full energization using agency-approved forms and procedures. Substation, power plant, transmission, and distribution relay system and equipment maintenance and testing are also required. The contract period will be two years. Questions are due September 4, 2026, and a pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 27, 2026.
