Youth Softball Officiating Services

The City of Roanoke, Department of Parks and Recreation, is seeking a qualified vendor to provide officiating services for its youth softball programs. The selected vendor will be responsible for employing and assigning an adequate number of certified officials for all city-scheduled youth softball games. These officials are expected to maintain a neat appearance, wear appropriate uniforms, and arrive at the game site at least fifteen minutes prior to start times to ensure that fields and facilities are in safe and playable condition.

Additional duties include conducting pregame conferences with team coaches, assessing facility playability in accordance with youth softball rules, and maintaining order during games. Officials will also work proactively to discourage unsportsmanlike behavior from coaches, participants, and spectators, promoting a positive and safe environment for all involved.

The intention is to ensure consistent, high-quality officiating that aligns with the standards and objectives of Roanoke's youth recreational sports programs.
