DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Providence, Rhode Island seeks proposals from organizations to provide comprehensive youth program services. The goal is to design and implement effective programming that supports youth in achieving academic and employment success, including facilitating transitions into post-secondary education, training, and employment opportunities.

Selected organizations will be responsible for creating and coordinating a workforce development system that builds economic and employment partnerships among service providers, job seekers, and employers. The programs should address the diverse needs of target populations and employers within the current economy, while improving access to federally funded employment, education, training, and support service programs.

Services should aim to enhance employment, training, literacy, and vocational outcomes, and establish a workforce preparation framework that is flexible, responsive, customer-focused, and managed at the local level. The initiative specifically prioritizes youth who have recently received assistance or qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The contract period is two years.
