South Dakota seeks a qualified vendor to deliver comprehensive worksite wellness and chronic disease prevention services aimed at improving the health of employees statewide. The selected organization will design and implement innovative, evidence-based strategies that positively influence health behaviors related to chronic disease and brain health in South Dakota workplaces.
Key responsibilities include providing leadership, technical assistance, education, and resources for worksites to deploy comprehensive wellness programs. These programs should address areas such as chronic disease prevention, physical activity, nutritious eating, mental well-being, and overall employee health. Specific initiatives will involve supporting diabetes and cardiovascular health efforts, including the promotion of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, hypertension control, heart health and stroke prevention, as well as education about risk reduction for Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
Additional duties include developing and distributing an electronic newsletter with best practices, educational resources, and success stories, as well as organizing webinars and virtual trainings on wellness and chronic disease prevention topics. The vendor will also be responsible for recruiting and engaging worksites across the state to adopt science-based policies that foster chronic disease prevention, health promotion, and dementia risk reduction.
