DESCRIPTION

The selected vendor will provide third party administration services for workman's compensation claims, including pharmacy benefit management (PBM) and preferred provider organization (PPO) medical services. The administrator's responsibilities will include the determination of compensability, sending informational packets to injured employees as required by statutory guidelines, and ongoing review of indemnity cases at least every thirty days.

Medical and pharmacy bills will be assessed to ensure a causal relationship with the work-related injury prior to payment or reimbursement, and initial indemnity payments will only be processed after the extent of injury, length of disability, and connection to the job incident are confirmed with the medical facility. The contractor is expected to assign dedicated claims personnel, review claim reserves, and manage all related expenses.

Additional requirements include quarterly solicitation and review of itemized legal bills, ensuring accuracy of payments, and regular claim reserve evaluation. The contract will span three years, with an opportunity for vendors to attend a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting and to submit questions by the specified deadline.
