DESCRIPTION

The selected vendor will provide third party administrator services for workers' compensation claims for county employees. Responsibilities include supervising all claims to determine their validity and compensability, determining and making all payments of benefits due through county-managed funds, and recommending appropriate medical providers for compensable cases.

Vendors will be expected to process claims using the established medical fee schedule where applicable, conduct investigations into accidents and injuries, and negotiate or settle related claims or suits. Additionally, the administrator will attend and represent the employer at all workers' compensation informal conferences and hearings. The initial contract will be for a period of one year.
