DESCRIPTION

The City seeks a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to provide comprehensive management of its Workers’ Compensation claims program. The selected firm will be responsible for administering all open and prior-year claims, with a primary focus on cost management and maintaining high-quality service standards.

Responsibilities include transferring, converting, and installing all new and existing claim information and paper files from the previous TPA if required. The TPA must establish and document procedures for the payment of benefits, medical expenses, legal fees, and other relevant costs. Experienced claims examiners are to manage an average caseload of 180 files each, under the direct supervision of the City’s Workers’ Compensation Supervisor.

The TPA is expected to review all delayed claims in consultation with the Supervisor before any action is taken. Additionally, the administrator must ensure secured, reliable access to all financial and administrative claim data via a website or VPN connection. Interested firms should note that all questions regarding the RFP are to be submitted by April 1, 2026.
