DESCRIPTION


The City of Washington seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive workers compensation claim administrator services. These services include managing all claims or loss reports submitted for injury, illness, or death, and investigating all claims made against the city by collecting relevant documentation such as photos, statements, and reports. The chosen administrator will coordinate surveillance or activity checks as authorized and assist with defense preparation for litigated cases.

A requirement of this contract is to develop and maintain a file for each claim according to the city's guidelines, ensuring files are accessible for city review and case summaries are provided as needed. The administrator must notify excess insurers of significant claims or occurrences, supply ongoing status updates, and maintain a comprehensive claims database for administration and reporting. Additional responsibilities include responding to employee inquiries, distributing claims handling materials, and assuming all open claims as of the contract’s commencement. The provider is also responsible for processing all claim-related payments, including but not limited to, medical bills, time loss benefits, disability payments, travel reimbursements, and prescription costs. The contract is for an initial one-year term.
