DESCRIPTION

The government authority located in Hawaii is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive workers' compensation bill auditing services. The selected contractor will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, processing, and tracking medical bills to validate the appropriateness of charges and ensure medical documentation meets the standards set by the workers’ compensation medical fee schedule and Medicare guidelines.

Vendors must amend and adjust bills as needed following the audit process, utilizing Certified Professional Coders to perform all coding and audit functions in accordance with CPT, HAR, HRS, and other applicable laws. The contractor will conduct accurate data entry, procedural coding, and handle provider inquiries, including direct provider calls.

The vendor is also expected to print and provide client access to electronic audit reports, submit monthly billing reports detailing audit costs by claim, and prepare quarterly reports summarizing bill audit activities, outcomes, and any identified trends or patterns in billing practices.
