DESCRIPTION


A government authority in Houston, Texas is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive workers compensation audit services. The selected supplier will conduct annual reviews encompassing open indemnity and medical-only claims, as well as closed indemnity and medical-only claims, with an estimated total of up to 100 claims reviewed each year.

The audit scope includes assessing the timeliness, adequacy, and accuracy of claim reserves as claim circumstances evolve, evaluating the promptness and correctness of payments to injured workers, and reviewing the effectiveness of medical cost containment strategies. Additionally, the audit should investigate the use of nurse case managers and utilization review services, the quality and control of adjuster management, the timeliness and detail of reports to the excess carrier, and the oversight and management of litigation processes including attorney assignment and dispute resolution. Thorough, timely supervisory reviews must also be documented.

All questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by April 1, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 31, 2026. The contract will cover a period of one year.
