DESCRIPTION

The district is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive worker’s compensation and third-party administration (TPA) services for a three-year contract period. The chosen TPA will assign a dedicated Claim Service Manager responsible for managing services and resolving any applicable issues to the district’s satisfaction within fourteen business days of notification of a claim, or providing an acceptable alternative.

The TPA must offer a 24/7/365 claim-reporting tool accessible by dedicated toll-free phone and web, featuring customizable questions as required. Initial reserves for claims must be established monthly or within thirty days, with ongoing reviews every ninety days by the claim adjuster and, when appropriate, a supervisor. A designated Claims Team will be provided for the district, and all data from claim reports must be keyed and coded into an online computer system.

For all questionable lost time claims and applicable workers’ compensation claims, the TPA will take signed statements from injured workers, claimants, and witnesses. Before initiating third-party actions, the TPA will consult with the district’s human resources contact. Additionally, the TPA must deliver monthly, computer-generated loss run analysis and summary reports detailing activity on all reported, open, and closed claims.
