The City is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive workers compensation advisory services, including consulting assistance to help the City fulfill its obligations under the Workers’ Compensation Act. The selected contractor will also serve as administrator for Police and Fire Injured–on–Duty Claims.
The scope of work includes keeping the City informed about trends and changes in workers’ compensation laws and medical cost containment initiatives. The vendor will coordinate medical case management for injured employees, developing and implementing effective case management strategies to minimize overall medical and lost time costs. Responsibilities further include medical management such as utilization review, scheduling independent medical examinations, and performance monitoring of treatments to ensure adherence to proper protocols and industry best practices.
