A government authority in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive repair services for the Oakwood and Henning Shelters. For Oakwood Shelter, the project involves disassembling the entire log structure due to damage caused by a fallen tree. The contractor will construct new column footings, set new log columns, and reassemble the existing log components where feasible. The scope also includes removing and replacing the existing roof and framing with a new log purlin roof. Additional tasks include cleaning and repointing the stone chimney and fireplace brick, cleaning and sealing the brick floor and concrete walkway, and rerouting and painting electrical conduits and receptacles to match existing finishes.
For Henning Shelter, the scope includes repairing timber beams at specified bearing locations and addressing flashing issues at the stone chimney and roof intersection. Contractors with experience in structural, roofing, masonry, and electrical work are encouraged to respond.
