The city is seeking a vendor to provide a wide area network (WAN) replacement solution that connects on-premise network equipment at each site and supports connectivity to data centers, the internet, and potential Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. The proposed solution must support split tunnelling capabilities, allowing internet-bound traffic to be routed directly to the internet while all corporate or private network traffic is securely routed through the data center. Split tunnelling should be configurable on a per-site basis, with the organization able to enable or disable this feature as needed.
Each remote site must be equipped with a minimum of 80 Mbps symmetrical bandwidth, scalable up to 1 Gbps based on business requirements. The WAN solution must provide support for bandwidth upgrades as necessary, maintain low-latency connectivity across all remote sites, and support business applications such as VoIP, video conferencing, real-time collaboration, and cloud-based services. Secure, encrypted virtual private network (VPN) connectivity is required to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data across distributed sites.
Additionally, the solution must include support for Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), allowing different services—including cameras, laptops, and other devices—to utilize separate routing and forwarding tables at remote sites.
