The State of Maryland is seeking a vendor to provide website redesign and content development services utilizing a content management system (CMS). This project is currently in its second phase, which focuses on the implementation and development of the redesigned website. The selected vendor will be responsible for editing, rewriting, optimizing, and streamlining web content in alignment with best practices for usability and search optimization.
Key responsibilities include reviewing existing survey data and analytics to better understand user behaviors and needs, as well as rationalizing the content architecture to eliminate duplication and minimize cognitive load. The contractor will work collaboratively with internal staff and the current website development partner to develop a comprehensive, user-focused taxonomy and improve audience engagement. Special emphasis is placed on creating content and information structures tailored for diverse user groups, including consumers, providers, policymakers, and researchers.
Additionally, the vendor is expected to conduct a thorough analysis of current content management practices, particularly the usage of metadata, and ensure foundational improvements that enhance the accuracy and relevance of search results across the site.
