The State of Alaska is seeking a qualified contractor to modernize its existing ColdFusion-based website by implementing a secure and accessible content management system (CMS). The objective is to transition away from legacy ColdFusion code, addressing associated security vulnerabilities, and establish a contemporary web platform that is user–friendly and accessible to all users.
The chosen CMS must empower non–technical personnel to easily update, create, and publish website content without the need for specialized programming knowledge, thereby minimizing reliance on developers for routine content changes. Additionally, the CMS should incorporate a role–based workflow system, allowing for differentiated permissions among content authors, editors, and approvers to support thorough content review and approval processes.
The redesigned website must offer a responsive design, delivering an optimal user experience on phones, tablets, and desktop devices, and support access across diverse screen sizes and connection speeds. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring that all accessibility standards are met, eliminating barriers that affect users with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. The contract is set for a one–year term.
