A Washington, DC agency is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive website services utilizing the Drupal Content Management System (CMS). The scope of engagement includes website design, upgrade, implementation, migration, and ongoing maintenance. The selected vendor will be responsible for updating the existing website, supporting periodic design and theme updates, and ensuring ongoing maintenance to uphold functionality, stability, accessibility, and security standards.
Essential responsibilities include maintaining Drupal CMS (currently version 10), applying patches, updating modules and themes, and managing core version upgrades. The vendor will oversee the transition from Drupal 10 to Drupal 11 in alignment with the district’s migration plan and ensure the website remains compliant with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards, including Section 508 and ADA requirements. The project also encompasses enhancing user interface elements such as layout, typography, and color palette to reflect the agency’s brand identity while preserving a distinct online presence. Additionally, all public-facing website content—including PDFs, images, and reports—must meet accessibility tagging and metadata requirements. Security monitoring and compliance with district and website standards will be expected throughout the duration of services.
