A Washington state agency is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive website design, development, and hosting services. The primary goal is to modernize and redesign the agency’s website to ensure full compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 or newer, making the platform accessible and user-friendly for all visitors. The new website must be visually appealing, easy to navigate, and deliver an optimal user experience across all devices, including phones, desktops, and tablets.
The vendor will be responsible for designing a site that allows agency staff to easily manage content, update existing pages, modify layouts, and create new pages as needed. All current website content and tools, such as the Property Search Tool, must be accommodated. Essential features include a drafting capability for editing pages, broad browser compatibility, efficient performance on limited bandwidth, and integration with Page Freezer or an equivalent website archiving tool. The site should offer preview functionality for content prior to publication, a searchable interface, dedicated spaces for meeting agendas and documents, a media center for news releases, an FAQ section, and access to website analytics for staff. This project is aimed at enhancing transparency, accessibility, and information sharing for the agency’s stakeholders.
