A county in New Mexico is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive ADA compliance services for its web and mobile applications. The selected provider will be responsible for auditing and testing all online digital content to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II final rule, specifically adhering to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards by the April 26, 2027 deadline.
Key responsibilities include conducting a baseline audit of all county-owned and third-party managed digital content, implementing accessibility fixes for websites, applications, and digital documents identified in the audit, and providing access to relevant county-managed platforms for thorough testing. The vendor will also be expected to facilitate communication with third-party vendors who manage or host county-related systems, create user-friendly checklists and quick guides, and offer ongoing guidance on accessible design and document remediation—including work with PDFs, Microsoft Office files, multimedia captioning, and graphics. Additionally, the vendor will help establish standardized procedures for the creation, maintenance, and publication of accessible digital content.
