Watershed Studies Engineering Services

A government authority in Millersville, MD is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide services for the development of watershed studies and comprehensive 2D flood risk models. The selected vendor will be responsible for creating detailed watershed models that utilize advanced river engineering methodologies to quantify both fluvial and pluvial flood risks across designated watersheds. While ongoing model maintenance is not included in this contract, the intent is for the developed meshes to be maintained locally as living models, allowing for public accessibility and future use in development and permitting processes.

Services will also include the integration of coastal and nuisance flood risks to accurately capture tailwater conditions and compound flooding events, without detracting from the primary focus on fluvial and pluvial risks. Model outcomes will inform evaluations of existing and future watershed hazards, vulnerabilities, and potential mitigation strategies. Additionally, the vendor will be tasked with developing a technical guidance framework to direct the watershed study process. The contract is expected to span a two-year period.
