DESCRIPTION


The government authority in Yreka, California is seeking a vendor to provide water resources engineering and environmental consulting services. The selected consultant will be responsible for developing an in-depth feasibility planning study focusing on the repair and use of High Mountain Lakes for in-stream flow benefits. This study will address necessary on-the-ground work to establish or repair reservoirs, assess reservoir storage capacity, identify direct and indirect in-stream benefits, examine the pathways for maximizing flow to the Scott River main stem, research authorizations for reservoir projects, and evaluate restoration and utilization costs.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating with the project consultant to review the planning process, evaluating ecological flow criteria relevant to the study, substantiating prioritized stream reaches for ecological flow augmentation, providing existing biological assessment data, completing biological studies, and preparing draft measures to minimize environmental impacts at select high mountain lake locations. The contract will have a one-year term, with a specified question submission deadline prior to bid closure.
