The government authority in Wethersfield, Connecticut is seeking a qualified vendor to provide historic restoration services for a warehouse structure. The warehouse features post and beam construction with a free-standing frame. Restoration tasks will include replicating the existing grade level entrance door on the east wall, with the requirement to salvage and reuse all existing hardware and nails on the new door.
Vendors will also be responsible for salvaging and reusing existing iron nails for the installation of new cladding, restoring existing windows—including replication of muntins where missing—and reglazing with existing unbroken panes of historic glass. The project scope also includes the removal of board cladding and the installation of new cladding that matches the original in size and material.
A mandatory pre-proposal walk-through is scheduled for April 22, 2026. All questions regarding the RFP must be submitted by April 28, 2026.
