SUMMARY

The VA intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a specimen tracking system to be deployed at several Midwest VA Medical Centers.

DESCRIPTION

The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Lecia Biosystems of Chicago, Illinois, for the provision of the Lecia Cerebro Anatomic Pathology specimen identification, tracking, and workflow management system. This system will service multiple Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, including Jesse Brown, Federal Health Care Center, Hines in Illinois, and Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The procurement will be conducted as a firm fixed price contract under NAICS Code 334516, adhering to FAR 6.302–1 as only one responsible source is deemed able to meet the agency's requirements. Interested firms that believe they can satisfy these requirements must submit supporting information detailing their products, services, and customer references within seven days of publication. All information should sufficiently demonstrate compliance with the stated requirements and will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer.

If no competitive responses are received, the government will proceed with the planned sole source negotiation.
