DESCRIPTION

This RFP solicits vendors to provide a comprehensive virtualization infrastructure and backup solution for an organization in Ohio. Responsibilities include the design, procurement, implementation, and installation of virtualization host servers utilizing an enterprise hypervisor platform, and shared or hyperconverged storage as applicable.

The virtualization infrastructure must consist of enterprise-grade physical host servers with redundant power, integration into the existing network, and sufficient CPU and RAM to support current workloads and allow for future growth. The configuration should ensure high availability and offer centralized hypervisor management. Storage solutions must be all-flash or hybrid, feature encryption at rest, be scalable, and deliver performance suitable for virtualized workloads. Usable storage capacity, not just raw capacity, must be clearly defined.

Backup and disaster recovery services are required, including image-based VM backups, application-aware and incremental backups, Microsoft 365 backup support, and immutable backup storage. Off-site requirements include maintaining a secondary backup copy in a separate physical or cloud location, air-gapped or immutable storage, disaster recovery testing capabilities, and transparency around cloud storage and egress costs. All questions must be submitted by March 20, 2026, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 13, 2026.
