DESCRIPTION

The College seeks a vendor to provide a virtual reality (VR) platform, aiming to integrate innovative VR technology into its nursing simulation program. The objective is to enhance student engagement and improve clinical judgment through individualized experiential learning, thereby promoting patient safety in both common and high-risk clinical situations.

The VR platform will initially be introduced to sophomore nursing students, with orientation and usage guidance. Subsequently, the program will expand to junior and senior levels, integrating VR simulations fully across all student cohorts. The ideal platform must offer customizable, standardized patient scenarios featuring artificial intelligence-driven scripting and scenario development. It should recognize student decision points, dynamically adapting simulation outcomes based on those inputs.

The system must enable educators to maintain a reusable simulation library, facilitate sessions remotely, and support multi-patient scenarios. It should function as a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) with automated grading, accessible via computers (web or app based for Windows/Mac) and personal VR headsets. The flexible access supports students practicing from any location with internet connectivity. The contract is envisioned for a three-year term.
