The selected vendor will provide utility locating services for a government authority in Colorado. Responsibilities include field locating and marking all buried utilities in compliance with damage prevention laws and relevant APWA color-code standards. Vendors are expected to use electronic locating equipment, such as pipe and cable locators, and alternative locating methods—like reviewing district GIS data, as-built drawings, and using GPS or field survey tools—when tracer wire is absent or not operational.
Timely ticket response is essential: standard tickets require marking within three business days of issuance unless otherwise specified, while emergency tickets demand immediate response. The contractor must maintain adequate staffing and resources to handle emergency locate requests at any hour, including after normal business hours. This includes providing a 24/7 dedicated after-hours contact, guaranteeing rapid emergency response, and maintaining clear escalation and notification procedures for all after-hours activities. The initial contract period will be for one year.
