The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Sacramento District is conducting market research to assess the availability and capability of small business firms for a potential fire sprinkler system conversion project at Warehouse 28 of the Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin (DDJC) in Tracy, California.
The project entails modifying the current exterior wet fire sprinkler systems, which are susceptible to freezing and require draining each winter, to a system resistant to freezing in cold weather. The goal is to enhance fire protection without seasonal interruptions caused by system drainage.
If a solicitation is issued, it may take the form of a firm-fixed-price contract, with construction completion anticipated within 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The estimated value of the construction effort is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, and the relevant NAICS code is expected to be 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors). Input from interested firms regarding market capabilities, timeline feasibility, and equipment lead times is encouraged to help inform the Government's acquisition strategy.
