The organization is seeking a qualified vendor to provide Urban Land Use Strategy Director services for Maryland's downtown district. This position will leverage market research, data-driven analysis, and advanced planning methodologies to guide development decisions that support both public and private stakeholders, aimed at fostering the district’s long-term economic vitality.
Key responsibilities include evaluating proposed development projects, reviewing zoning and land use policy initiatives, and delivering written recommendations to senior leadership. The selected vendor will lead comprehensive market research and empirical analysis using tools such as CoStar, Placer.ai, and publicly available data sources, with the goal of assessing market conditions, consumer patterns, and development trends.
Additional duties involve contributing to the creation and implementation of strategic plans focused on downtown growth and economic development. The vendor is also expected to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including property and business owners, residents, city agencies, and community organizations. Serving as a visible advocate, the Urban Land Use Strategy Director will represent the organization and the district at public meetings, community events, and with the media.
