SUMMARY

Consultant sought to integrate trauma and acute care data registries and enable interoperability across multiple health and law enforcement datasets in Hawaii.

DESCRIPTION

An experienced trauma and acute care data informatics consultant is sought to support the integration of statewide health and law enforcement data registries in Hawaii. The consultant will work to combine the Patient Registry, Trauma Registry, and Violent Death and Suicide Data in order to enable robust data interoperability across multiple sources, including autopsy reports, vital records, law enforcement data, and trauma registry information. This effort aims to facilitate a comprehensive analysis of trauma-related deaths in the state.

Key responsibilities include configuring the State Patient Registry to accept and process records from diverse sources such as medical examiner reports, hospital records, police reports, and death certificates. The consultant will establish a unified data model and develop a standardized data dictionary to ensure consistency across systems such as TQIP, NTDB, NVDRS, and ABA. Additional tasks involve mapping workflows, developing and documenting data entry and import processes, and creating data mappings and linkage logic to support interoperability—leveraging industry standards like HL7 and FHIR to streamline data integration and maintain data integrity.
