A school district in Virginia is seeking proposals for the implementation of a comprehensive Transportation Management System (TMS). The system must integrate seamlessly with the district's active directory and student information system (SIS), Synergy, supporting automated and schedulable data imports and exports. The solution should be accessible via both mobile and desktop devices, providing functionalities for bus drivers and staff, such as logging student discipline incidents.
Key requirements include route and run optimization considering factors like student distribution, vehicle specifications, and other operational parameters. The TMS should feature a customizable dashboard for operational statistics, utilize existing GPS data for route planning, and offer web-based public access to transportation eligibility, route, and attendance information based on district policies. Reporting capabilities are essential, with options for both built-in and custom report generation, as well as the ability to print detailed route maps and manage daily bus seating charts for contact tracing.
Additional features should support special transportation needs, such as storing multiple student addresses, managing specialized equipment, and attaching unlimited documents to student records. Integration of aerial imagery and mapping services is also required. The anticipated contract period is two years, and a pre-bid meeting is scheduled.
