The government authority in California is seeking a vendor to deliver comprehensive transactions (sales) and use tax audit services. The selected firm will be responsible for proactively identifying, auditing, and correcting sales and use tax allocation errors, with the goal of maximizing revenue recovery, ensuring compliance, and supporting the county’s financial planning and decision-making processes.
Key requirements include maintaining detailed registration data on all active businesses registered with the state board of equalization, managing sales tax allocation information for cities, counties, and transactions tax districts, as well as property tax and business license data for all relevant jurisdictions. The vendor should utilize proprietary systems—both manual and automated—to screen for tax reporting errors and identify misallocated or under-reported revenue. Additionally, the firm must provide a comprehensive database showing total transactions (sales) and use tax receipts paid to the county, and deliver timely, data-driven reporting and insights.
