DESCRIPTION


The county seeks a vendor to provide third party administrator services for workers’ compensation claims. The selected provider will be responsible for administering all open, newly filed, and reopened workers’ compensation claims on behalf of the county, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Claims must be handled promptly, courteously, equitably, and effectively, utilizing management techniques that contain costs, facilitate the appropriate return of employees to work, and resolve claims efficiently.

Additional responsibilities include conducting field investigations and customary investigative work as necessary or as requested by the county. The administrator must maintain open communication with county stakeholders, employees, providers, and the Department of Labor & Industries, and coordinate light-duty programs to support injured employees during their recovery. The provider is also expected to arrange timely payments for medical and death benefits as well as for temporary or permanent loss or disability compensation, either as required by law or as specifically directed by the county.
