A government authority located in Howell, Michigan is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive third-party administrator benefit services. Responsibilities include annual review of claims history and current health plans, including managed care utilization for identifying opportunities to maximize cost savings while minimizing impact on employees, retirees, and the agency. The selected provider will prepare annual reports summarizing current benefit plans and offer financial impact analysis, as well as legislative analysis and position development regarding legislation that affects public sector benefits.
Additional duties involve preparing reports on FSA, HSA, HIPAA, COBRA, and PPACA processes, exploring alternative approaches, and assessing financial effectiveness. The vendor will facilitate bi-annual meetings with insurance providers to maintain relationships and service levels, and perform fully paperless online enrollments. Research, reporting, and presentations to leadership are required, along with access to educational materials, quarterly personalized newsletters to employees, and administration of COBRA, HIPAA, payroll accounting, ACA management and reporting, automated data transfers, and Family Medical Leave Act administration. The anticipated contract period is three years.
