The government authority in San Jose, California seeks a vendor to provide telecommunications cabling installation and repair services. The scope of work includes installing and maintaining a complete, functional, and tested standards-based cabling infrastructure to support high-speed data applications, utilizing category 6 cabling for horizontal use and up to ten gigabit Ethernet in the backbone system.
The project covers network cabling for all data systems, generation of as-built drawings, and comprehensive reporting and testing of the data network cabling systems. Required cabling standards include CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, CAT6e, or the County's current Ethernet cabling standards, as well as copper communication cabling. Duties also involve panel installation, cleanup, rework, labeling, color matching, and cable management.
The vendor should be able to handle multi-mode and single-mode fiber, perform terminations in standard connection, and conduct Optical Time–Domain Reflectometer testing with documented reports. Certification reports for all cabling systems are required.
