A government authority in Everett, Washington is seeking supply chain management consulting services to enhance their operations. The selected consultant will analyze all aspects of the agency’s supply chain, including planning, sourcing, contracting, logistics, inventory and warehousing, supplier management, and risk and compliance. The objective is to identify gaps relative to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, and to deliver prioritized remediation roadmaps for improvement.
Key areas of focus include demand and supply planning such as forecasting, material requirements planning, master production scheduling, and policies for capital and operations and maintenance materials. The project also encompasses sourcing and category management, including market intelligence, the RFx process, cost evaluations, and supplier diversity initiatives. Supplier management activities include onboarding, qualification, performance assessments, audits, and segmentation.
Additional responsibilities extend to logistics and warehousing strategy, emergency material flow, warehouse layout, cycle counting, and maintenance, repair, and operations control. Inventory management includes setting stocking policies and addressing lead times and obsolescence. The consultant will also support risk and compliance assessments, business continuity planning, cybersecurity of suppliers, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The agency is seeking recommendations regarding technology and data utilization, including ERP, eProcurement, contract lifecycle management, supplier portals, and data analytics. Furthermore, the project will emphasize sustainability and ESG considerations in sourcing and supplier decisions.
