The State of California is seeking a comprehensive student attendance and engagement platform designed to improve chronic absence rates and support student groups with the highest need. The chosen solution must collect, analyze, and report on actionable chronic absence data at the student, school, and district levels, enabling early intervention and guiding data-driven decisions. The platform should feature tools to identify at-risk students and groups, track attendance trends, and provide intuitive dashboards and timely reports for educators and administrators. Disaggregation of chronic absence data by grade level—particularly for transitional grades such as TK, kindergarten, middle school, and high school—is required to enable focused interventions.

The solution must also include a chronic absenteeism intervention program that incorporates evidence-based, personalized family communications through mail and text, as well as family-centered truancy and excused absence notifications aligned with state compliance requirements. Features should include positive messaging campaigns to encourage improved attendance, strategic scheduling of interventions, and multilingual, 24/7 family support services. Additionally, the vendor is expected to offer expert-led training sessions on evidence-based attendance strategies, targeting Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions to ensure all levels of need are addressed.
