The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking software maintenance and technical support for structured self-assessment data capture tools. This initiative is led by multiple VA stakeholders, including the Office of Mental Health (OMH), the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), the Veteran Integrated Service Network (VISN) 4 Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC), the Office of Specialty Care, and the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP), under the Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP).
The core objective is to maintain and support a software solution that facilitates the delivery and collection of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) through various electronic means, including text, email, and tablets. These measures are essential for supporting VA's commitment to measurement-based care in the treatment of mental illness and complex chronic health conditions. The required software must enable PRO data to be integrated into the Electronic Medical Record or other authorized data repositories, and also support provider and Veteran direct entry of program evaluation data, with flexibility to supply data directly to OMH if necessary.
The VA is engaging with industry to solicit feedback on the Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) to refine requirements, clarify capabilities, and improve the procurement process for this critical software support and maintenance effort.
