The government authority in Mineral, Virginia seeks a vendor to provide a structured cabling system for their facility. The scope includes installation of both MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) racks, which must be connected to the building ground in the data room. Each customer-supplied four-post rack is to be securely installed and anchored to the floor.
Fiber installation requirements include setting up single-mode 24-strand armored fiber between the high school MDF and the CTE building MDF, as well as single-mode 12-strand armored fiber between the CTE MDF and the CTE building IDF. Category 6+ cabling must be provided, with the number of drops determined from supplied plans, and certification testing and detailed test results are required for each run. Specific installation standards such as maximum cable run lengths, bending radius, service loops, bundle size, and wiring pin-out are specified. All copper cabling must be tested with a Fluke Networks DTX-1800 tester (or equivalent), meeting ANSI/TIA/EIA–568–B.1 parameters. The contract period is for one year, with a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for April 13, 2026.
