DESCRIPTION

A government authority in North Carolina is soliciting proposals for comprehensive structural assessment services. The selected vendor will be responsible for analysis of all existing structural systems within buildings or structures to determine their condition, capacities, and limitations, rather than focusing only on areas with apparent deficiencies.

The scope includes assessment of foundational elements, framing, walls, columns, supports, beams, and all other structural or construction-related systems. The evaluation must determine current load-bearing capacities and identify structural deficiencies that could impact adaptive use of the facility. The assessment should also address causes and extents of existing or potential structural failures, overall building integrity, soil bearing capacity, scour resistance, and the condition of the building envelope.

Additionally, the vendor is expected to evaluate stormwater conveyance systems, gutters, and downpipes, and provide a lifecycle evaluation of building components. A facility condition index or similar methodology should be employed to establish a clear basis for the analysis. All questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by May 8, 2026.
