DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Savannah, Georgia seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive street renovations design professional services. The selected firm will be responsible for all aspects of planning, programming, design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration necessary to deliver a safe, code-compliant, and historically respectful yet modernized educational and administrative facility. The scope includes restoring significant historic features, preserving distinctive materials and construction techniques, and addressing visible degradation.

Design services will include programming and stakeholder engagement, development of educational specifications, space planning, and the creation of agency-approved curriculum for new learning spaces. The project also encompasses conceptual and schematic design, design development, preparation of construction documents, and phasing plans, particularly given the complexities of a downtown, occupied setting. Additionally, requirements include code analysis, life safety and accessibility upgrades, interior design and furnishings for specialized spaces such as studios, labs, offices, a museum, and culinary venues, all while integrating technology and security solutions to district standards and modern MEP/FP/IT systems with minimal visual impact.

There is a strong emphasis on planning public elements like student-run culinary and museum spaces, designing specialized facilities for architecture and preservation programs, and incorporating the design of an on-site parking garage. Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by April 6, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 30, 2026.
