The selected vendor will provide strategic planning and community place branding services for the city of Brandon, Manitoba. The scope includes the development of a comprehensive tourism strategic plan and the creation of a refreshed community place brand. This plan will establish a clear roadmap to guide tourism priorities, foster partnerships, direct marketing investments, and support destination development for the next decade.
The vendor is expected to define target visitor markets, highlight Brandon's most competitive tourism experiences and assets, and identify development opportunities. Responsibilities also include reviewing previous destination assessments and tourism studies, conducting detailed competitor destination analyses, and inventorying tourism assets and infrastructure. Further analysis will address visitation trends, market conditions, and Brandon's competitive positioning.
The project requires an assessment of the city's strengths, challenges, opportunities, and gaps related to tourism, along with evaluation of tourism readiness, capacity, and event attraction potential. Deliverables include a clear tourism vision, guiding principles, identification of priority visitor markets, experience pillars, strategic goals, and focus areas.
