The Town of Erie, Colorado is seeking a qualified vendor to update its strategic plan for the municipal water system. The selected firm will be responsible for identifying data gaps within the Town’s water system GIS database that may impact the development of the strategic plan. A thorough water system model must be developed and calibrated with sufficient detail to accurately represent existing conditions.
Key tasks include evaluating the water distribution network to identify current and potential future deficiencies, including emergency water storage needs for each service zone throughout the planning horizon. The vendor will project changes in distribution system variables, such as roughness coefficients, due to system aging, and incorporate these trends into future system modeling scenarios. Additionally, the contractor will prepare mapping and summary tables detailing recommended improvements, including their locations, specifications, cost estimates, and projected implementation schedules.
An Asset Management Plan will be developed to determine necessary system replacements or rehabilitations required within the planning horizon to address age-related deficiencies. All findings and analyses will be compiled into a draft Strategic Plan for the Town’s consideration.
