The City of Alberta seeks a strategic partner to deliver community recreation digital services, particularly for booking a wide range of facilities including sports fields, indoor ice arenas, gymnasiums, multipurpose rooms, picnic sites, turf, aquatic facilities, running tracks, zoos, conservatoriums, and nature centres. The system must efficiently manage a complex rate structure dependent on customer type, time of day, season, facility type, bookable space, and activity.
Vendors are expected to handle overlapping bookings and dynamic event pricing, including rate blending for bookings that span multiple rate windows. The solution should enable mass updates to bookings and facility schedules, support the rollover of large volumes of bookings from one year to the next during business hours without performance degradation, and permit bulk uploads of facility schedules.
The city is actively transitioning its services to online, self-service platforms accessible by web and mobile devices, and aims to expand these capabilities. Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted by March 10, 2026.
