Strategic Energy Plan Development Service

The city in Illinois is seeking a vendor to develop a comprehensive strategic energy plan aimed at advancing cost-effective energy solutions and supporting established sustainability goals. This initiative will build upon the city’s 2022 sustainability action plan and leverage existing community inventories to identify, prioritize, and promote near-term energy strategies targeting reduced energy use, lower operating costs, and ongoing progress toward carbon neutrality.

Key components of the project include benchmarking historical energy consumption for major facilities and systems, analyzing the implications of future energy demand associated with efficiency improvements, electrification, and renewable energy adoption, and assessing current energy use across all city-owned buildings, facilities, utilities, and transportation systems. The selected vendor will review utility, fuel, and operational data to pinpoint primary drivers of energy consumption and expenses, as well as identify trends and high-usage assets. The final deliverable will be an actionable roadmap designed for practical implementation, taking into account existing city capacity and available funding.
