The selected vendor will provide comprehensive sport court and field strategy services to guide the future planning and allocation of outdoor sport facilities. This initiative involves extensive community engagement and analysis of both current and projected community needs and growth. The strategy will identify existing gaps and future needs, recommending outdoor sport court and field amenity projects that promote equitable access for all residents and optimize facility usage.
The scope of work includes cataloguing all existing city and school board outdoor sport courts, fields, and their supportive amenities such as drinking fountains, storage, washrooms, changerooms, seating, parking capacity, signage, waste bins, bicycle racks, proximity to public transit, and lighting. The strategy will consider the current geographical distribution to support community health, recreation, and sport development, ensuring all recommendations are aligned with best practices in the field.
