DESCRIPTION

A government authority in Montgomery, Maryland, seeks a vendor to provide smart vending machines for the secure tracking and dispensing of medical supplies. The awarded vendor will furnish, deliver, install, and set up seven new indoor vending machines and three new temperature-controlled outdoor vending machines. All machines must be robust, tamper-proof, and suitable for their intended indoor or outdoor locations. Preference will be given to machines with touchscreen functionality.

The machines should dispense various risk reduction supplies, including syringes and injection materials, safe smoking supplies, alcohol wipes, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, and pregnancy tests. Adjustable coils must be included to accommodate different item sizes, and each unit must be equipped with an inventory management system capable of alerting the County when restocking is needed.

The chosen vendor is responsible for monitoring inventory, providing timely restocking based on usage patterns, and performing regular preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance. The contract period will span one year, and a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 7, 2026.
