DESCRIPTION

This RFP seeks a qualified vendor to develop a comprehensive marketing and branding strategy for the honeybush sector. The project will be explicitly grounded in principles of biodiversity conservation, sustainable use, and access and benefit sharing. The selected company will create a sector-wide framework to guide coordinated marketing investments and ensure strategic positioning across the industry.

Key activities will include reviewing current honeybush branding, claims, and market positioning, as well as assessing their alignment with conservation and sustainability principles. The strategy must clarify defensible sector-level claims, substantiation requirements, and provide guidance to prevent fragmented or misleading messaging. This assignment will culminate in a unified narrative and marketing direction for the honeybush sector, including identifying priority markets, addressing risks, and proposing practical, implementable solutions within complex sector contexts.

The strategy will support alignment among value chain actors, address strategic risks such as weak substantiation or misrepresentation, and will require the ability to design value propositions and positioning strategies at the industry or value-chain level.
